The Origin Spark: Stargazing & Physics
I have been fascinated by the night sky ever since childhood. The pivotal moment came in junior high, when I joined a science camp led by Prof. Sun Wei-Hsin (former director of the National Museum of Natural Science), which reignited my passion for astronomy and solidified it as a lifelong dream. I also participated in science fairs during that period — though not with outstanding results — those hands-on explorations were what first cultivated my deep love for physics and the pursuit of truth.
In high school, I joined the astronomy club and eventually became its president, while simultaneously pursuing science fair projects and extensive self-directed study — many of my core physics intuitions were built during that period. At NTHU, I found even richer resources, and consistently pushed myself by taking advanced courses, including a graduate-level Fluid Mechanics course in my very first semester as a freshman. I also became president of the NTHU Astronomy Club, where I found a close-knit community of like-minded friends and channeled our shared passion into public outreach and mountain stargazing expeditions.
